Since industrialization, there has been numerous debates asking the question: Is climate change due to natural evolution or is it the human species causing this change? Scientist’s try their best to predict the future, but it is just that, a prediction. Take a meteorologist for example. Your local weatherman states that it is going to rain that day and you take all of the necessary precautions for this incident only to see that it does not in fact rain. Climate change has not only been debated by scientists around the world, but also become a major political debate as well. Politicians are generally out for one thing, and that is popularity. Climate change is a topic that is constantly changing. You never know what to believe in their speeches. This brings me to my point, which is you never really know what is going to happen. According to NASA, â€Å"Certain gases in the atmospher e block heat from escaping.† We live in what scientist like to refer to as a â€Å"†¦greenhouse effect, or the warming that happens when the atmosphere traps heat radiating from Earth toward space.† (http://climate.nasa.gov/) When thinking about it in this way, it makes the most sense to me that although we are not the only reason for climate change, we are a great factor. The problem being researched for this review is nurse burnout in the operating room and critical care areas. Nurse burnout negatively effects staff, patients and healthcare as a whole (Henderson, 2015).With the use of research plans to implement new guidelines and best practices can happen leading to being able to resolve the problem. With nurse burnout becoming more common leading to a nursing shortage and the amount of patients that will require care increasing, it will be very important to learn about and prevent nurse burnout. It is not until he sees favorable results that he will seize giving his employees a hard time. Oblivious to my surroundings, my eyes remain fixed on my destination, the horizon. Almost mechanically I walk on, stepping nearer to the intersection ahead. The crack of thunder roars in the sky and rain begins pouring down over the landscape. As my foot reaches into the street, a raindrop lands above my eye and slides down my skin. While this scene is fictitious in some ways, it is completely true in others. Throughout the past year I’ve made an effort to slow time; to appreciate my surroundings; to explore more than my forward path. Writing for the school newspaper this year has suited me incredibly well and rekindled my love for writing. As not only an aide in deciphering my feelings, writing is also a strong tool in conveying my ideas and opinions. My talents in mathematics and the physical sciences have also influenced me greatly. I want to create; I want to explore. I want to be heard, I want to make people think, and I want to impact the world on a large scale. Through my educational endeavors I want my life to grow and change with times. I want to be the first person through the door to tomorrow, leading the charge, not simply following the beaten path. Today, as I stand at this crossroad, I plan to take the side streets. I want my college experience to allow me to explore my world and develop my interests deeper. With the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell I can do exactly this. The study abroad opportunities are endless and will allow me to explore the physical world further, while the numerous courses and subject areas will help me to delve deeper into the mental realm. I still do not know where I am headed, but I am excited to continue to explore, and I am convinced Cornell is the place to help me define my horizon.
